California Rest Area Locations
California rest areas are typically roadside facilities that provide at a minimum parking and restrooms. Although many have information kiosks, vending machines and picnic areas. There are several that have RV dump station facilities, where RVers may empty their sewage holding tanks.
They are maintained and funded by Caltrans. Some are closed due to maintenance issues, its always best to have a alternate rest stop just in case. Click the rest area links below.

California Vista Points
When on the road in the State of California and just need a quick break try a California vista point. They're awesome. These pullouts give motorists a chance to enjoy great views of California scenery where you can just park and relax a bit. (keep in mind that they do not include restrooms). The majority of California Vista points do have some limited facilities such as walkways, interpretive displays, railings, benches, interpretive information, trash receptacles and monuments.
